Junkers A50 Junior: The lightness of the 30s
The new version of the A50 Junior is also an ultralight aircraft in the 600 kg class, designed as an open tandem seating aircraft. It corressponds to the typical light aircraft image from the end of the 1920s and therefore has a very classic appearance. The A50 is powered by a four-cylinder Rotax with 100 hp and an MT propeller, with brakes from Beringer and avionics from GARMIN. Together with the additional Galaxy parachute rescue system installed in the former baggage compartment, this ensures maximum safety. Everything is displayed on modern screens in the otherwise retro cockpit, which the pilot monitors from the rear seat.

The new version of the A50 combines the charm of the 1930s with the latest technology

From digital design to flying reality - the virtual structural model as a first step
Load test with sandbags to determine the structural load-bearing capacity

Development and construction of the fuselage structure - a look at the design phase of the A50 Junior

The maiden flight of the A50 Junior
The 600 kg class ultralight aircraft (UL), the A50 Junior, combines the look of the late 1920s with the latest technology.
Thanks to this customer order, we were able to surpass ourselves and realize the project in just one and a half years. We created the design data and the complete CAD model, built tools and jigs and carried out refinements after the prototype for series readiness. In order to achieve provisional commercial flight approval, we provided all the necessary verification, such as breaking tests etc.. Kasaero GmbH was responsible for the verification process. Development, installation and testing of instrumentation, electrics/avionics, fuel, cooling and oil system as well as engine installation was implemented by MTAS Aviation GmbH in cooperation with Kasaero and kaelin aero.
